Welcome to Del Ray / Rosemont
Situated in the heart of Alexandria City, Del Ray and (slightly more south) Rosemont are beloved neighborhoods with a vibrant community.
Founded in 1894 as a planned community, Del Ray quickly became a bustling streetcar community. While the electric rail lines that brought on the boom have vanished, Del Ray has remained a focal point of the City of Alexandria and the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area.
Del Ray, home of the charming Mount Vernon Ave, Where Main Street Still Exists, boasts locally owned shops, restaurants, fitness studios, music studios, and boutiques. Pat Miller Square is home to a weekly and very popular Farmer’s Market, and don’t forget to mark your social calendar with all the neighborhood events year-round – Halloween Parade, Art on the Avenue, “First Thursday”, Candy Cane Bar Crawl, Alexandria’s Turkey Trot, and so much more.
Del Ray and Rosemont are home to the unique and charming tree-lined streets adorned with Farmhouses, bungalows, Craftsman, quintessential Virginia colonials, and 1940’s rowhomes. There is truly something for everyone in these neighborhoods.
The Braddock Road Metro, King Street Metro, and Amtrak station are easily accessible for commuters. From west to east, major arteries include Braddock Road, Russell Road, Mt. Vernon Avenue, and Route 1. I-395 will bring you directly into Washington, D.C. Reagan National Airport is essentially at your doorstep.
